The Group Character object consists of a character drawn above or below text, often with the purpose of visually grouping items. Alternatively, text can be drawn above or below a stretched character this is some text (example: → ). In the following example, the text above the overbrace is not part of the group character object; it is included only to demonstrate a real-world example of the object in use:
